Front seats to Family - The Play | Calgary Family Photography

Family can be described in allll sorts of ways.  Ask anyone to describe their own and it will likely range from the serene to the wild speckled with just about everything in between.   The joys of being with so many different families is that I get to see their way of being.

we want fun photos of our family

In an atmosphere of being together, inevitably the characters of a family come together like the well versed actors in a play that have been performing for sold out audiences across the globe. Dynamic, fun, spontaneous and hilarious, the characters embrace their roles and play it out for the audience that is their life.  Family photographs should reflect who you are - let's aim to get it right!

I believe there is an inner child in all of us

Those looks that make you grin - the knowing glances that you have when you capture that person in just.the.right.way make it your show - your way.  Laughing until our stomachs hurt, coming up with goofy ideas and fun prompts we played together to get it right.

I get it, coordinating everyone, getting them all there on time and looking their best when that person who you though thad the right shirt then switched it for the other one at the last's stressful.  Changing shirts in the car is like the proverbial backstage quick change.  But then you get there, the lights dim, the curtains open and the magic begins.

we want the fun but the intimate too

And it is everything you thought it might be...and then some.  Knowing how to harness the light, leaning into the connection and being prepared allow us to capture the theatrical range that is this family.

oh my gosh...they made me cry

That thing they were all talking about - ya - it's totally worth it.  I am telling you, these little moments, you know the ones, where everything is still, even those frenetic, crazy, everyone is going in different directions, moments.  When you stop to look at them later, they'll bring you right back to your seat in the theatre where everything was comfortable, warm and enchanting and a tear just might run down your cheek.  You guys rock.  Your show is sold out and I got the front row.  xoxo Karin
